  • PlanToys developed the use of water-based and non-toxic dyes for manufacturing. Today, chemical dyes containing lead or other heavy metals are prohibited for use in our factory.

  • The Sarnseang-Arun Cultural and Environmental Foundation is established – highlighting the significance of public libraries, parks and sustainable living.

  • Our chemical-free and kiln-dried process was refined. In our factory, we use this process to gradually eliminate moisture content from rubberwood and maintain wood quality – making it durable for a variety of conditions. This environmentally-friendly method also helps reduce weevil problems.

  • PlanToys became the first wooden toy manufacturer in Thailand to acquire the world-class Quality Management Standard Certification for product quality and customer service excellence.

  • PlanToys Children’s Museum
    Located in Trang Province, Thailand, the museum displays fascinating toys from around the world that are made of different materials alongside a timeline of PlanToys products. Children and families experience hands-on educational fun here that is unique and imaginative.

  • Road & Rail Set
    PlanToys enters a new market with the goal of targeting children with an interest in building and construction play. The launch of Road & Rail products makes us a trending leader in road-and-rail design toys.

  • PlanToys’ Tower Pounding is the first PlanToys product to win the Red Dot Award from Germany.

  • We receive the Environmental Management System Standard for our environmentally-conscious practices and Sustainable Way.

  • PlanToys pursues the Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification. This certification ensures a safe and healthy work environment for employees both in the office and factory.

  • We become the first wooden toy manufacturer to acquire the Social Accountability International Certification, which emphasizes international human rights. We support self-sufficient development and fair wages, and have zero tolerance for discrimination and child labor.

  • Along with other members of the Plan Group, we start an annual reforestation program, Plan Loves Forests, with the goal of preserving and restoring watershed forests while cultivating environmental awareness and accountability.

  • PlanToys becomes the first toy manufacturer to use E-Zero certified materials, including plywood and E0 glue, to prevent children from coming into contact with toxic chemicals.

  • Instead of standard chemical ink, we begin using biodegradable and eco-friendly soy ink for our printed materials.

  • Solar energy is used to generate electricity at the PlanToys Children’s Museum in order to reduce electricity usage and our carbon footprint.

  • Plan Brings Smiles Project
    In partnership with valued distributors, PlanToys works on designing and producing a collection of toys for children with special needs. These adaptive toys help enhance the development of children with cerebral palsy, autism and visual impairment while bringing tremendous joy to them as well.

  • Children and Community Club
    Started in Trang Province, Thailand, the club encourages children to participate inactivities outside of the classroom to gain hands-on experiences that are beneficial to their learning and development.

  • We launched the Green Dollhouse as a tool to teach children about sustainable energy and eco-friendly living. The dollhouse comes with energy efficient features including an electric inverter, adjustable blind, wind turbine, solar panel, rain barrel, bio façade and recycling bins.

  • PlanToys receives the FSC Chain of Custody Certification from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This certification is granted to companies that source wood from well-managed forests. A certified company is also audited for its inventory, manufacturing practices, sales, invoicing and record-keeping procedures.

  • The Launch of PlanWood™
    In the pursuit of producing zero waste, PlanToys develops a new eco-friendly practice of grinding surplus sawdust and wood chips from production and using a thermal process to form them into shapes. This new material, PlanWood™, allows us to create additional unique toy designs while also helping to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Organic pigments are used in our PlanWood™ material, which are friendly to children and the environment.

  • Mom-Made Toys Project
    2011 marked the 30thanniversary of PlanToys. In celebration, we established the Mom-Made Toys Project as a way to give back to society. In partnership with mothers of children with special needs, PlanToys designed and produced a series of toys to help enhance the development of children with cerebral palsy, autismand visual impairment.

  • Build-A-Robot
    Featuring a contemporary design,the Build-a-Robot is created to specifically address the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The robot intends to support emotional development and awareness while also enhancing a child's sensory and fine motor skills.

  • Microwave technology
    With guidance from research done by Dr.Mudtorlep Nisoa, the Supervisor of Plasma Technology for the Agricultural Applications Research Laboratory at Walailak University in Thailand, we began utilizing microwave technology in our manufacturing process to help keep weevils out of rubberwood. Microwave technology is a green method that uses a microwave for drying – helping to preserve the quality of agricultural products while also causing evaporation of moisture from wood at low temperature. At the same time, this technology destroys weevils and insects in the wood without using chemicals and insecticides.

  • Biomass Gasification Power Plant
    PlanToys starts converting raw materials from rubber trees into fuel to generate electricity (with a generation capacity of 5 megawatt) for both the company factory and nearby communities.

  • Water Play
    We become the first toy manufacturer to produce wooden toys that can be played with in water. Since every PlanWood™ product passes through a thermal process to form its shape, it has a higher density than solid wood - making it a perfect play material for water.

  • PlanToys launches PlanHome™ with the hope of encouraging children to imagine and create homes of their own. The products are also multifunctional – allowing children to experience the toys in a multitude of ways both indoors and outdoors.

  • The Balancing Cactus was selected by JIDA Design Museum Selection Vol.18 in 2016, making it the most prized and recognized product of PlanToys to date. Other awards and recognitions that the Balancing Cactus has received includetheGerman Design Prize, Good Toy Award Japan 2016, Spiel Gut Awardand Harper’s Bazaar Junior Toy Award.

  • We launch PlanMini™ products into the market to target both children and parents. This series of miniaturized toys encourages little ones to have fun anywhere, anytime and with anyone.

  • The PlanToys Gears & Puzzles - Deluxe, Jumping Acrobat, Weightlifting Acrobat and Clapping Roller are awarded the Good Toy Award Japan 2018.

  • We establish PlanNeramit, an imaginative playhouse and children's theatre where families can enjoy play-based learning together – driven by the concept of "I play, therefore I learn."

  • PlanToys Launches 100% Natural Rubber Toys
    Our rubber toys are made using 100% natural rubber and the safest formulas for children, toy makers and the planet. These products are designed to withstand all weather conditions so children can enjoy playing with them both outdoors and indoors.

  • The Forest of Play Exhibition
    This playable exhibition is a space where children and families can have fun together. It consists of various play stations that help develop the four basic developmental areas: physical, emotional, social and intellectual. This exhibition also helps PlanToys set an example as a toy manufacturer – showing customers and the industry that our business extends well beyond wooden toy production.

  • New Sustainable Packaging
    In addition to the carbon footprint icon that specifies the amount of greenhouse gas that is released from our production process, product placement is now more organized inside each package. Additionally, to reduce waste, we reuse paper from old packaging boxes that haven’t been manufactured for new packages.

  • The Grand Opening of the Forest of Play Museum
    Because the Forest of Play Exhibition held at Chulalongkorn University was so successful, we transferred the exhibit to the PlanNeramit building at Sathorn 10. Now, there is an additional play area where children can enjoy pretend play in a variety of ways.We intend to maintain this play area for both children and families to come and spend time together.
